Raised CA125

Bit of background: I am 29 years old, have PCOS and managed to conceive my son 10 months ago following fertility treatment. I used to only get periods yearly but since my son I have had more regular periods (strangely) though they have now disappeared again. I do not want any more children due to severe PND and the journey I've had.

Since having my son I have had pelvic pain on and off, sometimes stabbing pain on either side, but mostly a burning sensation across my pelvic are.
One period was stabbing pains instead of stomach cramps.

I ignored it for 7 months as I did not want hospital treatment due to a traumatic birth but finally went. I had blood tests and one of them, CA125 (can be raised due to ovarian tumors), was raised. Normal is 0-35, mine was 53. I had an urgent ultrasound scan which showed bulky ovaries but no tumour. Now I am awaiting another blood test to see if I need further investigations.

Has anyone else had a raised CA125? I have PND and on antidepressants and the physical pain and mental anguish is pushing me to the edge.

Thank you for any replies.

Hi how did you get on. I had the ca125 test done because I was having pain ever since having my son. Was a very bad birth with a 3c tear. Doctor did the test And it came back at 56. So was red flag for an ultrasound. Had ultrasound And got result from gp who said everything looks ok. Bit of thicken womb. And couldn’t see my left ovary. So was sent to gynaecologist. Was there on Monday. She just ask me questions. Said that she wasn’t really concerns about the blood tests. Normally if it’s a lot higher like 100s or 1000s means someone else but not always cancer. She done a good examination and I had tv ultrasound my womb look good. My ovaries showed pcos. So time I had normal ultrasound and it showed thicken womb was just my period. Anyhow she didn’t seems worried. Done my ca125 again and said that she didn’t expect it to change. If it’s the same I wouldn’t hear anything or if it’s slightly raise like in 60s I wouldn’t be called back. If it came back in the 100s they would call back to do
Other checks.
