Abdominal pains , bad periods

After a bit of advice please... I've been to see my doctor and had blood work which has come back ok

For the past few years I've been getting crippling lower abdominal pains a few times a day, it lasts for a few minutes then it's as if nothing happened

I suffer from heavy periods but they are regular, and painful bowel movements. The doctor has had a feel of my stomach but is just advising it's one of those things

Has anyone else had something like this and if so how did you ease it please? When the pain comes I literally double over and have to squeeze on it to try and stop it getting worse and when it happens in front of my son he can see I'm in pain Sad

This is not just one of those things. You’ve had this issue for some years now.

Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up to and including menses should be checked out to see if endometriosis is present.
If this is due to endometriosis it’s not going to ever be detected via blood tests. Feeling your stomach as well as this GP did was also a waste of time too. Presumably this person has not suggested anything else. You’ve been fobbed off here, what this person should do here is refer you to a gynaecologist. I would go back to the practice and insist that you are referred to a gynae.

In the meantime also I would keep a daily pain and symptom diary.

I have exactly the same symptoms, internal scan revealed that I have fibroids.

Thank you both so much, I keep a food diary and so will continue with that, even showed it to her to show it wasn't anything triggering it as it happens at different times. I'm going to log the pain as well, then go back and say I want to see a gynaecologist

The gp didn't suggest anything else so I will take your advice and log it all and go back, pushing to be referred. It's just rubbish when you. Go to a doctor for the second time about it and they fob you off again. I get they were busy with Covid, but they aren't at the moment (the nurses words as I had my smear the same day)

Thank you both so much Smile
