Anxiously waiting

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has been through anything similar or could offer any useful advice. I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my first child. Before falling pregnant we knew that I had two endometrioma cysts. During a routine consultant appointment four weeks ago the consultant said that they would like to run some cancer marker blood tests to ensure that they were ok. I wasn't particularly worried about this as I had the same tests done in February and they came back fine. So I had the blood tests done over four weeks ago and haven't heard anything so assumed all was well. Fast forward to my consultant appointment over the phone yesterday and the consultant told me that the markers were showing high levels for cancer and in his words "a good amount" I was told the results were nearly six times more than what they would like to see. I was told to go in today for a repeat of the blood tests and they have also tested for two other types of cancer and that the results will be discussed at a multi disciplinary team meeting on Monday. The outcome and next steps will then be written up and posted out to me, apparently they won't call. He did say that it could be higher due to the endometriomas and maybe not something more sinister however they have dramatically increased since February. I'm obviously very stressed out and just feeling broken. I'm so upset that my results were missed over four weeks ago and nothing has been done about it and I'm just so stressed out for my health and my babies. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if they could offer any useful support. Thanks for reading, from one very upset mummy to hopefully be.

Oh Anxiouslywaiting my heart goes out to you, that sounds awful for you. I’m afraid I know very little save for a friend of a friend who had cancer -I think uterine, went on to have a healthy baby but had to start chemo after the birth. I may be completely mistaken, as this was some time ago, but perhaps the hormones of the pregnancy triggered or maybe accelerated the cancer....I could be completely wrong on that though. 15 years on she and her child are both fine and healthy. I hope someone replies who knows more than I do.
I’m shocked that the consultant won’t give you a phone appt for the results after the multi-disciplinary meeting. You will have questions that need answering. That doesn’t sound right, could you ask your GP to get involved? Wishing you and baby all the very best. Please keep us updated. There is a whole community of support out hereFlowers.
