Anal Skin tags

Ladies, has anyone had any success removing anal skin tags at home? I have one big one that has been there for years and is really getting me down.

I have just split up with my partner and one of the main reasons for me was my lack of body confidence affecting our sex life.

I know they're really common so what do people do to get rid of them at home? I know privately it's like £500 which I can't afford.

Any advice appreciated 😔

I had one that at some point just cane off by itself. I had gone to the gp about it before though and if I recall she said they could remove but I would have to wait until after I'd given birth. As it came off I never had to follow it up. I guess at home you could... tie a thread round it? I'm sure Google will know more!

Skin tags are so easy to remove with tying cotton around them hth

You could do it yourself as per this MN'er! Wink

I've performed surgery on my own bottom! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/344037-i-ve-performed-surgery-on-my-own-bottom

I got rid of one using dental floss. It felt huge - was surprisingly small when it fell off. Took a few days but so glad I did it. You do have to tie it really tight to get it to work.

I just have no shame in going to the GP for basically anything, but maybe it helped that I was in the process of moving house so about to change surgery. Good luck!

Dental floss is a great idea! I've been to the docs but they consider it cosmetic and won't do on the NHS, I'll give it a bash! Wish me luck 😂😂😂
