Spotting. Should I be concerned?

We're TTC at the moment so I'm paying much more attention than normal to every day of my cycle, and I'm starting to wonder if I should be concerned that for the last few (4-5?) months I've spotted on and off for 4-5 days before AF.

It's always very pale brown/pinkish and can be there, then disappear completely for a day, then return. When AF arrives it's usually pretty heavy for 2-3 days and then gone like a tap has been switched off.

I was taking the POP for a few months earlier this year but stopped after 3 months as I was spotting pretty much daily and utterly miserable. Could this still be some kind of settling down from that, or something more sinister?

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi there,

I have always had spotting before my period. I had lots of issues with my periods but I can tell you that no doctor or consultant has ever been worried or interested in the spotting!

Thanks for the reply @RiddledWithAnger! Typically this month it didn't happen!
