Pelvic floor - any success stories?

My pelvic floor is not happy. I keep having awful accidents and it's impacting on every aspect of my life.

Has anyone been in a similar position and managed to turn it around?

Oh that sounds miserable. My pelvic floor was shot following DS but it's much better now after seeing a specialist women's physio. I definitely recommend seeking professional help - see if your GP can refer you.

I agree with ally on seeking help from a GP, my pelvic floor was terrible even before DC, but now i feel so confident after physio.

With everything going on at the moment it's been 6 months since the original referral and things are only getting worse

Ask your doctor about a referral to a specialist bladder and bowel service. They may prescribe you an electrical stimulation machine. This basically gives your vaginal and pelvic floor muscles small electric shocks in order to begin to tighten them. It’s for use when your muscles are so overstretched that normal pelvic floor exercises have no effect. It was a long road for me, but three years after my hideous labour and pelvic floor damage, I am now able to go running and trampolining with no leakage, which I thought would never be possible again.

Thank you so much @ifigoup

It's nice to hear a positive story! I'll get on to my GP straight away. Thank you!

Hi, I have the same problem after three vaginal births and it’s awful 😔

I have a machine on loan from the hospital but it doesn’t seem to be doing much so I think I will have to buy one when it needs to go back. Any recommendations of brands?

Thank you
