Hello I just wanted to know how likely it is for me to have another child after being diagnosed with pcos.
I had my daughter 2 years ago and about 6 months after I’ve noticed a constant nagging pain on lower right side of my stomach. Went to the doctors and she referred me to to the hospital and went for a scan and I got told I had pcos as she found fluid where the cysts have popped. I went back to the doctor and she confirmed this and said if it takes me more than a year to conceive then I could get Ivf. Lately I’ve thinking it would be lovely to have a other child but maybe the chances of me conceiving naturally are low. I just want to know is their and chance of convincing naturally? Or if not what is the process of ivf?
Thank you x

May I ask how old you are now?.

IVF and PCOS are uneasy bedfellows and it may well be the case that you won't need IVF anyway. IVF with PCOS patients should only be tried after all other treatment options have failed because the risks of ovarian hyperstimulation are high. Its usually more beneficial too for couples with male factor issues. Who diagnosed PCOS too; was it a gynae or a sonographer?.

Both of you should be tested further in any case and to see if there are any male factor problems. I would also educate yourself more about PCOS as this could help when making treatment decisions. This is a good website
