Weird bleeding, worried

Hi all.

Periods are normally very regular, only time I've been late is when I've been pregnant. However, this month my period is now 10 days late. I've taken several pregnancy tests, all negative, though the last test I took was on the 6th.

Around the time my period was due I did get a couple of days of very very light pinkish brown spotting, but it then stopped. Haven't gotten any more bleeding such until yesterday, when I got the brownish spotting again. This time however, when I wiped I got a load of thick mucus/discharge tinged with streaks of bright red blood. Thinking my period was finally starting, I put a pad on, but woken up this morning to absolutely nothing!

What is going on? I'm in my mid 20s, not on any hormonal contraception. I have been getting some abdominal pain over the last couple of days and I feel quite bloated, but I usually do before my period.

Is it worth seeing my doctor or just waiting to see if my period properly starts? Kind of worried! I have been a little stressed recently.

Thanks Smile

Make a GP appt. Anything out of the ordinary really should be checked. It's probably not serious and may well be stress related but get examined for your own peace of mind.

I would say wait but I'd certainly ring to chat to GP is it hasn't started properly by end of week.

I'd ring straight away if you get really severe pains unusual for you.

But then again I'd just enjoy it as mine started the first of July and finally stopped on 5th August after 2 doses of 10 days of northisterone and having an IUD fitted!

Thank you both! I am reluctant to see a doctor unless absolutely necessary, but this is quite unusual for me!
