IUD STRING CAN'T FIND THEM

Hi everyone

Having problems with my iud coil I got it inserted in November and since this whole pandemic I can't find the strings and having painful stomach pains and sometimes I have a horrible odour and I've tried the antibiotics and cream dr gave me which hasn't worked

They can't see me cause COVID-19 and wondering if anyone had the same problem with there coil anything I could do ?

I had my smear a few weeks ago and coil fitted yesterday.

You need seeing if there's an offensive smell and pain. Phone your GP back! Otherwise try a contraceptive services walk in, or general walk in centre.

I was referred for an ultrasound scan to see if mine had moved when the strings disappeared. It was still in the right place and a VERY determined nurse managed to get it out. It did need local anaesthetic though and there was quite a bit of digging !

You need to push to get this investigated. It could have moved or worse case scenario perforated your womb. Push to get referred for an ultra sound scan.
