Does anyone suffer from PMS but AFTER you have finished your period?
I feel so snappy and aggressive. Yet very despondent and lack of enthusiasm.
Feels like my hormones have crashed somehow.
Anyone else have this?

Hi, I know this is an old(ish) post. But was just having a search to see if this was common.

I have it too! Actually I don’t feel great during my period and get really tired/light headed/foggy brained then two or three days after of what feels like depression and if it went on any longer I wouldn’t be able to cope. But then all of a sudden it lifts and I’m back to my usual self.

The GP suggests going back on the pill, but the five I’ve tried they make feel weird all the time, and I don’t want to go on anti-depressants for something that doesn’t effect me all the time and seems very much hormone related.

You’re definitely not alone.

I think I have 1 Normal week a month! The build up am down and grumpy scatty ! Then wen ibhave my period it's more physically and then a couple of days after am really down in the dumps !
I totally get that feeling of it being lifted after its al over !

CroutonsAvatar · 15/04/2021 17:16

It’s literally like a cloud lifting isn’t it?

I think I get about 2 and a half weeks of normality. Maybe less since I get painfully bloated now when I ovulate. Sucks.

Lilmum1981 · 15/04/2021 22:41

Try taking an iron supplement during your period

CroutonsAvatar · 15/04/2021 23:12

I take iron, vit B6 and evening primrose. Have for the last year. It got worse for me since having a child.

Yes I get this.
As well as being irritable I get terribly anxious and have a few days where I can get to the point of being unable to leave the house, jumping at noises, scared to go to sleep. Always around ovulation time.
Hate it, but glad to know it is a thing and glad that I now see the pattern and can try and rationalise with myself a bit during those times.
