Mirena Coil. Weight gain. Help!

Posting again with correct name this time!

I've had the Minerva Coil for really heavy periods for 18 months now. It took 6-9 months to settle down, but my periods eventually stopped. However, I've put on a stone in weight. Looking back at my weight tracker, it's definitely linked to the coil. I've tried weight watchers, but I'm constantly hungry. I exercise - walking and gym, but obviously not enough to balance out the food I'm eating, and can't fit any more exercise into my life.

I'm considering having the coil removed. It's really affecting my self esteem. I've put on weight over the years as is normal but this is too much. It's not me

Is there anything else that will stop my periods or make them lighter? The pill will probably also make me put on weight

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Before you give up on Mirena try adding a good multivitamin to your diet possibly after breakfast or lunch. I too suffered from food cravings specially sugar after mirena. After adding vitamin b12 and magnesium my cravings are gone and I have lost weight too.
