C section wound reopening

Pegase · 23/07/2020 00:56

My incision reopened 2 weeks post partum due to infection. It is only a section about 1 cm long and I've had loads of antibiotics which I assume dealt with the infection but it is just not scabbing over - bleeds or weeps slightly every day.

Did anyone have this and how long did it take to heal up? Dr said to leave it open to air but it doesn't really get air naturally as under overhang.

Mine did this, I had two rounds of antibiotics and they drained it and then all fine.

A friend had the same. They did something with silver bandages for her and it worked.

Thanks for those ideas- I wish they would be more proactive about managing it. I keep going back and being prescribed stronger meds but no actual wound care

The docs gave me antibiotics but never looked at the wound - the midwife clinic did the draining and silver stuff. Go to day assessment unit and show them x

Hi I had this and had to have dressings changed every other day by a nurse. Pls get it checked as first antibiotic didn't work for me and they took a swab to get me the right antibiotics. They also asked me to keep the wound dry and I remember drying it with a hair dryer on cold blast. Hope you feel better soon.
