Breast cancer diagnosis

Had a biopsy 2 weeks ago, received phone call yesterday telling me I have breast cancer! Didn't really take it all in, spoke to a nurse later and was told a lot of things are up in the air because of Covid, so really scared that this is going to delay my treatment. Just really scared and upset, is anyone in a similar situation ?

My best friend was diagnosed during lockdown and has started treatment. There was a delay to get her port in, as no operations were happening but she's had the okay for that now pending result of a COVID test.

Her partner was allowed to the first meeting with the consultant but the rest he's had to wait in the car.

Best of luck. I hope you don't have to wait too long.

Wishing you the best. I had a scare during lockdown and I will never forget how I felt. I hope you get to start your treatment soon.

Hi, shocked. Yes, I'm in the same boat. I found a lump about 4 weeks ago - had a biopsy 2 weeks ago, diagnosis last Wednesday and am going on Monday for my pre-op. My surgery date is 3 August, so not long to stew! I must say NHS Wales has been very efficient so far.
Hope you get a date for treatment soon. I've been told I need a mastectomy, so I am trying to come to terms with that. I am 76, so not too worried about my looks! I have been shielding since March and have not told my AC yet, as I wanted to have the diagnosis first but they will be here tomorrow, so shall do it then. It has been hard, not being able to talk to someone about it, so it has helped sending you this message. I hope it helps you too, it's really scary, isn't it? Hope we can help each other through it. Flowers

@stillamum
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis too. But it's good it sounds like your treatment is going ahead quite quickly. I am finding it bit frustrating as will need mastectomy too, but no date set, just told mid to late August which feels a long way off, and want this cancer out of me now. Hope it goes ok telling your family, sending best wishes. My kids know, they are all school age, so it was hard , my youngest was very upset. But trying to stay positive in front of them. I am 40 so even though it's vain, I am worried how I will look, I know that's petty so trying not to think about it. Good luck and would love to hear you get on 💓
