Sex still painful, 11 months after c section

I don't understand what is happening and it's really upsetting. Sex has been very painful since I had my twins by section 11 months ago. We are still breastfeeding so I thought it might be vaginal dryness but no lubricant is helping. I didn't even give birth vaginally so I don't know what this is happening to me! It is really impacting on marriage. I can't approach my doctor because what would I even say?

Possibly low oestrogen due to breastfeeding. You could ask your GP to prescribe a topical cream such as Ovestin and see if it helps.

Would that affect my milk supply? If it was dryness, surely lubricant would help? I'm afraid that I've either healed incompletely or the stitching was wrong

I have had two c-sections and in some positions I find sex unbearably painful. We can manage doggy style (sorry to be blunt) for about 15 seconds but then I have to make him stop because of how much it hurts me. The only fully pain-free position we can have sex in is the missionary which is obviously is quite restrictive for us.

Each time we have sex I attempt the painful positions again in the hope that one day it will be fine, but sadly not.

My first section was 6.5 years ago and my second one was 3 years ago.

Thankfully my husband is very sympathetic.

Do not let embarrassment or not knowing what to say put you off seeing the doctor. Tell this person what you have written here.

I would urge you to see your GP about this and request a referral to a gynaecologist. Deep pain during sex is not normal and there is a cause.
