Labia Majora intense itching

Has anyone else had this? I'm going out of my mind and have nearly been in tears during the night with the constant itching.

I feel like any natural lubrication from my vagina irritates it as well as semen. It can happen even if I sleep without knickers on. Not worse or better whether I shave or not.

Have alternated between using aloe Vera and sudocrem.

Pretty sure it's not thrust as no other sympyoms just a specific patch of skin which is noticeable when I look in the mirror.

Have called the doctor but waiting for a call back. I feel utterly ridiculous!

How old are you OP? I believe this can be a menopause symptom?

ChessieFL · 03/07/2020 18:09

Could be lichen sclerosis or lichen planus

Bagelsandbrie · 03/07/2020 18:12

Could be low oestrogen- at any age, even pre menopause.

You need checking out but essentially you can treat it with Ovestin cream and Replens (Replens doesn’t contain oestrogen and you can buy it without a prescription, Ovestin you’ll need a prescription for). Have a google of Vaginal atrophy.

Thanks for the comments. I don't think it's vaginal atrophy as that seems to be linked to inside the body whereas the problem I have with a patch of skin on the outer labia, maybe more towards the groin area but lower down heading towards the perinium.

The doctor said it might be thrush but I disagreed as I've had it many times and this isn't the same. She then said about eczema/dermatitis which she's suggested I get a cream for. It does look more along the lines of lichen planus.
