Bastard BV

repeated BV is doing my head in.

I seem to be fighting a constant battle: I have a Mirena coil so don't get much in the way of a period but when I do it sets it off.

A course of treatment from the GP fixes things temporarily but then it comes back (sometimes after my period but sometimes just by itself).

In some instances BV gel from the chemist works, other times not. I take probiotics (proper ones not Yakult) and try to not eat too much sugar.

I'm at my wits end - has anyone else suffered like this and has anyone worked out some kind of control regime (either themselves or with their GP)?

I used to suffer with recurring BV until I started using natural yoghurt. It is the only thing that helped me. Some people say it didnt work but it did for me. You need to literally put natural unsweetened yoghurt up there .. and within a day or 2 it should relieve your symptoms and will go away and hopefully not come back. Its been 2 years since I last had BV now.

I had my coil removed. I was sick of being mistaken for Billingsgate market. I tried all sorts of natural remedies and antibiotics but the only thing that got rid was having it removed..

@Northernsoullover was the coil you had removed your first?

I'm on my third mirena, the first two were no bother but this one has been (never had any bleeding from the first two either).....
