I have been to the GP who did various tests on Monday including swabs.
She has just called me to say one came back positive for BV and has prescribed me an antibiotic.
I’ve been having some pelvic pain, lower tummy pains etc and was wondering if anybody else experienced pain with BV? I haven’t noticed any smells either.

Thankyou for your reply :). I went back to my GP on Monday because I really wasn’t sure what was causing the pain, it was awful. I thought it was my coil, so he said to wait it out and if no better they will take it out. (8 months overdue out) and he also said BV cannot cause pain like that x

I have had flare ups of really bad pain down there on. I had a really bad one around November/December and was diagnosed with Staphylococcus. I took 3 lots of antibiotics and it cleared eventually. I’m not sure BV does cause pain from what I’ve heard, but I swing between BV and thrush a lot and I do quite often get pain with the BV symptoms. I’m a medical mystery. Ask about staphylococcus next time you go. Another possibility is vulvodynia.
