Sore vulva, no itching, no discharge, no smell

I had my third baby 8 months ago and since around a week after he was born, I've felt like the skin was irritated on my vulva. It started off as an irrirable tingly feeling on one side of my outer labia and that is where it mainly returns to but other days I will have sore or generally irritated areas on other parts of my vulva. Sometimes it feels sort of burny/chaffed. Other days I feel normal. I have looked and looked and there is nothing there to see other than sometimes a bit of redness on the more inner skin of the vestibule area which may or may not be normal.

I have tried thrush cream on and off and it does relieve it a little but it always returns, so I don't really think it is that. The doctor also prescribed a course of topical AB cream incase it was BV which didn't do much either.

I wash with hydromol, wash my underwear at high temperatures and change panty liners regularly throughout the day. There is no unusual discharge or smell and it isn't itchy at all.

I am breastfeeding, so considered that it could be hormonal however my period returned a couple of weeks ago so i'm not sure.

It is really making me stressed. Clearly I could do with some swabs being taken and to see the gp in person but I can't do this right now. So I am looking for possible experiences and self help ideas?

Does sound like thrush, you need to take the tablet as well to get rid internally, ditch the panty liners they will irritate. Canenstan duo is great I've just had thrush took the tablet and cream last Thursday only just starting to go.

Thanks @ivegotthisyeah I am leaning towards thrush but the gp seemed to think not because of itch or discharge. Also would it have lasted 8 months without getting significantly worse do you think?

I thought someone might mention the panty liners but I have always used them with no problems before and also I need them as I've had a but of leakage problem (sorry if that's a bit much info) since dc1.

@Shewhoshallnotbeidentified I presume it could be if left untreated?
I used panty liners for years and normal shower gel etc had two lots of painful thrush now in about 7 months and have stopped using them as I find this irritates me and starts the thrush - I am sad and have done a bit of research recently as sick of it ordered some actimel yogurt on my food order as these contain pro biopics which is suppose to help. I don't think the heat helps so either. Hope you get it sorted it's defo worth investing in some canestan duo to see if it helps but give it a week from taking the tablet x
