Lump in armpit ...what could it be ?

It's only appeared the last couple of days.
Tonight I felt my armpit felt sore and itchy.
I felt a lump and now it's stinging.
What could it be?
Could it be from shaving?
Would you call the doctor ?

Could it be an ingrown hair maybe?
Or an insect bite?

Any lumps should be checked by your GP.

I often get this shortly after shaving. They gradually feel less sore and go after a few days.

Painful and itchy is a good sign that it is nothing more sinister. Put a hot flannel on it a few times a day.

Then go to GP or phone them or whatever we are allowed to do now if it doesn't improve.

I've twice had something similar which turned out to be an infected cyst probably caused by an ingrown hair. The first time I left it too long and it grew to about golf ball size. I had to have it drained and packed and it was bloody horrible. Second time I recognised what was happening and went straight to the go as soon as I noticed the stingy bump. Antibiotics sorted it in a few days.

Of course no one here can diagnose you, so speak to your gp asap.

I get this quite often, apparently caused my deodorant. Usually goes down in about 2 weeks so if it is still there after that time I'd see a GP.

I'd give it a week or 2 and if it's still there see your GP.
