(Pic attached - don’t open if sensitive) Periods have gone wonky

Hi there. I’m 40 and my periods are just not the same anymore. Have been regular as clockwork up till last October. Went to the doctors in March as hasn’t had a period since Jan and the three periods prior to that were early - 1 was a week early. My bloods were tested and they were fine. I’d had a smear test last year and that was also fine. Not pregnant either.

Doctor advised I book in to get tested for stis as I’d had some clots/bloody discharge when having sex (in December) which subsequently got cancelled due to covid but paid for a test myself and am free of chlamydia/gonorrhea.

So it’s now May and I haven’t had a period since January. When using a sex toy (dildo) fresh blood has appeared but there’s no pain - this has happened twice recently so staying away from that. I’ve now got this (see pic attached) which has been going on for about a week. Is it spotting?

Can anyone help? Obviously I’m phoning the doctor again. Would you be worried? Did your periods go winky after turning 40?

I once had fresh red bleeding after foreplay when I was younger which freaked me out. GP referred me to a Gynaecologist who suggested it was probably an ectropian. He wasn't at all concerned. And it's never happened since.

However definitely important to get it checked out as you are doing Smile
