I’ve just recd letter inviting me for my cervical screening smear test. Anyone had one during this period? 😬

The letters are probably sent out by computer.
You could call your gp who will advise when/if they are still doing them during this time.
If they are then I would get mine done.

I had one done 2 weeks ago and we were in lockdown at the time so I think they are still doing them.

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 16/04/2020 16:39

I had mine booked for a few weeks time and had a call yesterday cancelling it. My baby had her one year jabs today though so I think some things are still going ahead. I’m far more worried about the postponement of my smear as I’ve had problems in the past.

dementedpixie · 16/04/2020 16:39

A lot have been postponed. Scotland has cancelled all screening tests

Brumcherub · 16/04/2020 16:42

I received a letter last week. Rang as instructed and was told that my smear will not be done until GP practice back operating normally.

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 16/04/2020 16:43

this Really frightens me, mine isn’t due until next year thankfully but if it was due this year I think I would be really worrying something would be missed, hope it’s back to normal soon

My surgery isn’t doing smears atm.

Blossom4538 · 16/04/2020 21:35

I’ll give them a ring tomorrow. Thanks all

I had mine done about 3/4 weeks ago now, at same appointment baby had his jabs. Still waiting on results.

MauisLeftNipple · 17/04/2020 08:36

My surgery isn't doing them. I'm on a waiting list for when tests resume, but unlikely to be for a few months.

MollyButton · 17/04/2020 08:43

I'm just off for my routine blood test. It is important that health things as far as possible go on as usual. If women don't get their smear tests done, then there will be an added death rate from missed cervical changes.
The Doctors will have enhanced procedures to ensure safety.
