Experiences of coming of the mini pill please

Hoping to get some replies.

I am not happy. I got a locum Dr who prescribed me the mini pill six weeks ago. He said most women benefit. I asked him if he was sure as my usual gp didn't want me to have this due to anemia. He nodded and gave me it.

2 weeks of taking it it was great. My period was four days late. I thought I was going to be lucky. But then the bleeding began. ,4 weeks on and I'm still bleeding. My anemia is worse than ever. I'm weak. I'm tired. I can't concentrate. My lungs feel like they have not got enough air in them.

I phoned up yesterday and spoke to another Dr. He told me the combination pill was best and he didn't think the pill I was prescribed was right for my condition. I can't take the combination pill either. It makes me depressed and i feel like I have morning sickness.

I've weighed up my options. I think I'm better off having my heavy periods and taking lots of iron.

I want to stop taking the mini pill today. I just want to know what to expect?

Am I likely to bleed heavier when I stop? Or should the bleeding stop? I'm exhausted and weak and want to correct this mess before the kids to back to school etc. Right now I can't hardly function.

Thank you for reading.

I was on the mini pill for two years after being told I couldn't be on the combined pill. When I first went on it I bled for around 6-8 weeks sometimes spotting or light bleeding sometimes heavier. Then it settled and I didn't bleed really at all which is what I wanted as I suffer terribly heavy and painful periods. I sometimes had a bit of pinkish discharge now and again but nothing much. I did have one breakthrough bleed after around 14 months but it was just like a light period and lasted 5 days or so.
When I came off it, it took 6 weeks or so for my withdrawal bleed to come and then my period returned 4 weeks later. I got pregnant straight away next cycle and just had my little boy nearly 4 weeks ago.
I didn't have any side effects from the mini pill unlike the combined that made me really nauseous and headaches etc.
