Gonna try and keep this short and sweet I was wondering if anyone who had been on the mini pill and what you experienced before taking it (periods mostly)
So in July 2019 I had a normal cycle, 29 days, 5 day bleed, let me just add that I had my youngest son in May 2018, and periods were every 28 - 29 days, so August 2019 comes, and my period is late, I was due at the beginning of August and just didn't come, then it came 3 weeks later, lasted 10 days, was passing large clots etc, I didn't have a period in September, but then in October I was hit with the heaviest period I've ever had changing pads every hour, that lasted 23 days, I do believe I had an incomplete miscarriage but it's not 100% I did take a pregnancy test and was a faint positive but that was during the bleed, anyway fast forward to now, I've had 3 periods since then all these cycles have been between 56-59 days long with bleeding lasting between 13-20 days but the cycle I'm on right now is 49 which is a lot shorter but been bleeding so for for 10 days and ive been taking the mini pill for 7 days, I've been seen by a gynecologist and she has put me on the mini pill to "control the bleeding" and have more "regular periods" so I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has been on the mini pill, what were your periods like?
Did they become more regular?
Did they stop all together?
Do you think that the gynecologists putting me on the pill will mask the problem?
She did take a biopsy of my lining, I've Also had a ultrasound, that came back as everything was normal but my lining (in the gynaecologist words) wasn't the same thickness all the way round my uterus, said it was nothing to worry about, but wanted to rule out other reasons why I'm bleeding so heavily and for so many days, im due another ultrasound aswell but with all this pandemic stuff going on I'm not sure when it will be.
So sorry if this is long I did actually keep it as short as possible and cut out anything that was irrelevant but I'm just wondering if anyone else has been on the mini pill for heavy bleeding and what happened.
