Is it safe to wear a stomach wrap if I have pelvic organ prolapse?

I gave birth less than 2 weeks ago. It's very early days I know but I think I have some form of pelvic organ prolapse (heaviness, dragging, can see a bulge inside ☹️). Before I had my baby, I bought a postpartum stomach wrap from belly bandit. It's a pretty heavy duty one and I'm wondering if it could be harmful to wear if I have a prolapse, what do you think?

Why do you think you need a band, OP? You shouldn't. Your stomach will go back to normal don't worry! Xx

Your pelvic organs won't be back to normal for a long time yet. Why complicate matters. Do exercises as advised by midwife and discuss with your doctor if things do not return to normal in a timely manner.

@ohwerehalfwaythere @yikesanotherbooboo the band was recommended by a physio as I have diastasis recti from a previous baby. Have emailed her to get her thoughts too!

It sounds like a good idea to get a professional's advice as far as diastasis is concerned and they can advise you regarding appropriate management of your pelvic floor. I was just hoping to reassure you that recovery has barely started and although you will never be exactly as you were before pregnancy you will be amazed at how quickly and successfully you recover.
