Uterine polyps & doctors call

Hi, after a few months of pretty constant light bleeding between very heavy periods, I went to the docs & got referred for an internal scan. The radiologist was pretty tight lipped & said it looked like polyps & lining of my womb was thick.. she would refer me to gynaecologist. This was last Saturday. Two days later on the Monday doctor called me to say he was doing an urgent referral but should be nothing to worry about. Then that afternoon someone from hospital called to ‘reassure’ me they’d get me in as soon as possible. Now I wasn’t worried but after all these calls I am!! Especially in light of covid crisis.. Trying to keep rational after googling what polyps could mean & have seen on here lots of benign cases.. but can I ask those who’ve been through this, where the doctors phoning your like this??!! They said it would be within 2 wks so I’m worried theyve seen something more sinister & are fast tracking it???

I hate to say it but 2 weeks is standard "risk of cancer" referral timescales. Did you have an ultrasound internal scan? Radiologists are always quite tight lipped because they take the images and someone else usually writes the report from them.
I would imagine your next steps will be a hysteroscopy and removal of tissue for a biopsy. Try not to panic, chances are it won't be something serious, and if it is you're in a good position with a quick referral.

Yes.. all totally fine! Not even any polyps apparently. Never been so pleased to be told I’m officially perimenopausal 😂
Thanks for checking in- are you in similar boat?

Ahh I'm so glad.. well I had a baby 4 months ago, everything was fine until 3 weeks ago, I started spotting and then it went to a heavy period that's lasted 2 weeks, period has slowed but still bleeding. Doctors won't do a smear because of what's going on and I'm stressing so bad x

Wipingsides, I think I may be in a similar position, I went to the docs last week after finding a small lump on my labia, he said its "probably nothing to worry about" but he will refer me to a gyno and should receive an app in the next 2 weeks. This seems really quick and has scared me. I feel so irritated down there!
