Metronidazole dosage for Trichonomas

I went for a colposcopy recently and all was fine except they said I had thrichonomas. I’d had no symptoms relating to it.
I was given a prescription for metronidazole 400mg 3 times a day for 7 days.
From what I’ve read, this dose seems very high!
Does anyone have any experience of this?

Reading a study, people were given a single dose of 2g or 500mg twice daily for 7 days. So yours is slightly. I don't think for an antibiotic like metronidazole which very heavy duty, they'd give large dose like that for no reason!

I've had metronidazole a few times for tooth infections and PID. Not sure what my dosages were.
