Weird question... Does anyone get splits on their labia?

I promise I'm not a troll.

But this has just started happening again. It's been a week. I'm in agony. It's like I have cuts on my labia.

I do! I get one in one place, always at the same time of the month!

labazsisgoingmad · 14/03/2020 09:12

yes i had one it was agony i went to the drs over something else that needed her to examine me and she spotted it gave me some cream that soon healed it up

BitOfFun · 15/03/2020 22:02

It could be thrush. Have you tried some Canestan cream?

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 15/03/2020 22:03

Nope not me but ouch! Sounds sore

chuck7 · 15/03/2020 22:03

Yes i have on a couple of occasions and it was always down to thrush

Felicitycity · 15/03/2020 22:06

Thrush. Get some canesten.

Percypopper · 15/03/2020 22:06

Thrush!

Pinkerpellosa · 15/03/2020 22:08

Yes, thrush

Yes. Always just before my period. It seems to be hormonal.

WLmum · 15/03/2020 22:13

Yes, regularly, seats same place. Sure it's not thrush. Mentioned it to the smear nurse who was totally dismissive. Hoping for some useful advice now!

Northernsoullover · 15/03/2020 22:14

I got one on my arse. Timodene sorted it out.

bluebluezoo · 15/03/2020 22:14

Do you shave/remove hair? Could be an irritation or dryness from that exacerbated by hormones.

heartheal · 15/03/2020 22:16

I used to get these when I was about 17. It all stopped when I got rid of my boyfriend at the time.

GroggyLegs · 15/03/2020 22:18

Like paper cuts?

I suffered horribly for a long time and sought professional help which was less than useless.

Stopping hormonal contraception seemed to solve it. They came back a little in early pregnancy, but haven't had an issue since (now on copper coil so no hormones).

Canesten also soothed the cuts.

Mumsnut · 15/03/2020 22:23

Do google Lichen Sclerosis. The ‘paper cut’ on labia effect is typical.

MrsWooster · 15/03/2020 22:27

I was going to say lichen schlerosis too. This recurrent ‘paper cut’ was my only symptom.

parentallyadept · 15/03/2020 23:17

I third lichen sclerosus - mine was misdiagnosed for years as thrush!
