Smear test result

I went for my first smear test in many, many years - which is stupid I know and that's on me.

Received a letter from the hospital to say I'm HPV positive and I have changes to the cells in my cervix that will need treatment.

I will be seen within 2 weeks.

So now I'm worrying loads and expecting the worst. Does the will need treatment mean I have cervical cancer?

No it doesn't mean you've got cervical cancer. They're treating it (pre-cancerous cells) before you actually develop it. If they said it was, they'd ring you immediately and tell you, not send you a letter. You're very lucky you went when you did! Cannot stress how important cervical smears are.

Thank you 😊 yes I am very lucky and I've been very stupid.

But I am now registered with a GP, just so I could get a smear test and I'll keep on top of it from now on.

I had a lletz with top hat performed on Wednesday morning as I had CIN3 changes. Awaiting results of what they sent away now.
