Adenomyosis - time off work

Hello,
I was diagnosed with adenomyosis last year, I’ve had zoladex injections which helped temporarily and been told I will need a hysterectomy, my age is the concern as I’m only 28.
I’m now in full swing of some sort of major flare up and in agony.
I started a new job in January due to feeling better. Now I’m back where I was pain wise.
I’ve had two days off work, I work in a secondary school and am always on my feet. I’m still in intense pain, struggling to move with it and feeling extremely sick and fatigued. I have codeine but all it does is give me funny chest pains.

Am I being a wuss to have time off for this condition? How do others manage to work alongside it?!
😫

I don’t think you’re being a wuss. My fibroids have been giving me no end of grief and eventually I was half way to work one morning dosed to the eyeballs on over the counter painkillers when I broke down in tears, turned round and went home because I could hardly concentrate to drive I was in so much pain. Then as you say, any stronger painkillers have the side effects that make you feel even worse. Hang on in there but don’t feel bad about not being in work.
