Netflix has a film called 'Bleeding Edge' https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheBleedingg_Edge which looks at the FDA and its role in licensing medical devices. The film looks in particular at mesh and Essure, talking to real women about their stories.
It's educational and terrifying in equal measure but really important. Post Brexit we're open to more pressure from American medical companies so we all need to be aware and alert to potential problems
