Bleeding for 6 weeks nonstop

Hi I’ve always had long periods sometimes lasting 2 weeks and a short cycle maybe 20 days ish.

The last period has gone on for 44 days (6weeks) without stopping so I went to the GP today. I am waiting for bloods next week and an ultrasound appointment to come through.

Anyone had similar experiences??

I had a very long period recently due to fibroids and peri menopause. Could it be that?

Ultra sound come through quite quickly and bloods in a few days,but youay need to check these as God don't get in contact if nothing wrong.
If it carries on and the heaviness is affecting you functioning because of flooding the go back to your gp as there are drugs that may help.

Yeah they have put me on tranexamic acid

That may well stem the bleeding a bit but may not stop it entirely. I am wondering why northisterone was not prescribed.

Update had bloods on Monday night 5.30pm and had missed calls from docs this morning so rang back receptionist was confused said they had tried to call then went and spoke to someone and said there is something gp wants to discuss with me so they will ring me on Tuesday? Wtf?!

Will do must be just iron or something or they would’ve seen me sooner surely ?! Still waiting for an US appointment too

Update had my telephone appointment today and it is low folic acid on my blood test still awaiting ultrasound but I imagine that’s on hold due to covid19
