Would blood tests say I was pregnant?

Ok so first before i sound wierd, I didn't know I was pregnant with dc untill I was 5 months and went to the docs for a different reason (so if hadnt went to talk probs wouldnt have known for longer) i had no feelings or symptoms and was clueless! ever since though anytime i start to feel any way i did when I was pregnant i panic and think I am again wether its feeling sick or my boobs are sore etc BlushBlush

long story short i'm on the implant was bleeding alot the other month for a few weeks which stopped then i had sex which started the bleeding again for a firther 2/3 weeks with alot of feeling sick and pain like cramps. Docs done a blood test and apart from being anemic (already was) everything was normal, would they have been able to tell if i was pregnant from my bloods regardless of what they tested? The GP also down a quick examination on me and said everything look fine and that was it really.

But over the last maybe week i have been feeling this wierd sick after i eat or think of eating which i remember being like from being pregnant and my mind is going crazy incase i am or could be. I've spent all sorts of money in the past 2 years with tests and was wondering if a doctor would know from what ive said above if i could be? before i go waste more money to see Blush

Yes, a blood test would be positive.

Presumably you’ve done a urine test and it was negative?

DropYourSword · 01/03/2020 15:13

It depends what blood tests they ran on you. If it was just a full blood count to test for anemia then no, they wouldn’t know from that test. The only way they’d be able to tell is if they were running specific tests that looked for pregnancy.
If you’re concerned, you could do a urine pregnancy test at home as a starting point.

I had my bloods done to check liver kidneys iron levels and thyriods i'm sure, She also had a frel at my stomach and said she it felt normal, i've a history in the family for cancer and cysts etc so this is why i was examined aswell!

The last time i took a test it was negative and that was maybe a week or so before the bleeding started but GP said theres nothing else she can do because i'm not dur a smear so try painkillers for my nausea and pains but they don't help either!

Oh, I thought you meant the gp had tested specifically for pregnancy. They don’t routinely test for that unless you ask the lab.

MrsP2015 · 01/03/2020 15:19

Would they have tested for pregnancy though?

I would keep some cheap tests at home so if you ever feel this way you can test yourself- saves you spending so much time worrying as it won't do your mental health any good.

DropYourSword · 01/03/2020 15:22

Renal, liver and thyroid function bloods, and iron studies wouldn’t test for pregnancy.
Your GP sounds a bit dismissive/ useless if she thinks there’s literally nothing else she can do for you!
