Hello...i went got an ultrasound on Wednesday abdominal and internal, i rung the gp today to see if they had any results and they havnt as of yet....the doctor who did the ultrasound didnt really say anything, she took loads of picture, the abdominal scan only tool about 2 mins, then she said right think im going to need to do an internal one which panic mode set it, the internal one lasted about 10 minutes, she never said anything like nothing to worry about everything looks fine nothing like that, they asked if i was on my own, then said all the best, i asked how long it would take, she said ring to make an appointment with your gp, then changed it to, ring them to see if theyve received them in the next couple of days....im worried that they may have found something, ive had pain and problems since havig my son 16months ago, im 24 with mental health issues aswell which doesnt make the waiting process any easier

Hi there I've had both of these they had to do the internal one Cos they couldn'twith just the normal one as they couldn't see I maybe hadn't drank enough water.... and they don't tell you anythink which is annoying.... I understand your frustrations
Hopefully your gp will have your results shortly xx

No alittle over a week I have polycystic ovaries xx

emmathedilemma · 02/03/2020 07:52

When I had my first ultrasound I had to have an internal as well because my fibroids (which is what the scan was to diagnose) were stopping her getting a proper view of my ovaries. But they told me they'd found fibroids and why they wanted to do it. Try not to worry. I would make an appointment at your GP, at mine if you ring for test results you get a half coded message off the receptionist who's unable to help you with any further info.

Ive rung the gp and unfortunately my results are still with the hospital...hoping when i ring today they will have them, ive had to have to teste done as ive been having pains since i had my soon, the pain effects my lower back aswell, the doctor was more concerned as i never had my 6 weeks check up when i had my son,

I had the same experience with an internal scan. It took ages and they refused to tell me if everything looked OK (I asked and they just said to make an appointment to get the results). My results came back normal and I'd been worrying for nothing.
The report said both ovaries looked healthy, which is a miracle as I had one of them removed about 10 years ago!

I rung again today, normally the receptionist asks what results your waiting for after taking you name and date of birth, which they have done every time ive rung, but today she said is it the ultrasound results i said yes then she put me on hold for 10 minutes then came back and said no theyre not back yet 🙄 made no sense, maybe they are back but doctor hasnt looked at them, not sure....sick if waiting now especially when pain is getting worse, and there all day every day now,

Maybe the receptionist just remembered you from your previous call.
I hope you get your results soon and that everything's OK

kevintheorangecarrot · 04/03/2020 07:39

Hoping you get your results back ASAP! The person doing the ultrasound cannot really say anything as they're not the one who actually examines the scan photos.

Jayde95 · 04/03/2020 08:06

It was a different receptionist, i know all the receptionists at my gp surgery, i hope i get them back soon as well, hate waiting my anxiety levels are high

Hello just an update, went to the doctors today, my ultrasound came back normal, but the doctor is referring me to gynecology as shes still concerned about the amount of pain im in since having my little one, she mentioned about them checking for endometriosis, which will they will probably before a laparoscopy, im now terrified of what could actually be wrong, 16 months of pain none of stomach muscles ever went back after having my little boy, even though I'm glad my ultrasound came back clear, im even more scared now cause the other tests they have to do :(

I know you're worried, but the fact that your scan results were normal is great. It's good news
