Two days ago I had a quick straightforward procedure under a GA. it was a cystoscopy and all went to plan.
I was ok yesterday just tired but today I've been sick, I'm dizzy and this evening I've started having palpitations as well. Plus I feel exhausted.
Is this normal after GA?

Could you have picked up an infection?

Sux2buthen · 27/02/2020 21:24

I don't know to be honest

Well now I don't know what to think. Had mild bleeding from the cystoscopy and that tailed off but cane back a bit. Just been to bathroom and it's like the end scene from CarrieBlush
I haven't had a period for a long time due to breastfeeding, i can't tell if it's that or if there's a problem.

(Also have no proper pads etc in house so yay going real well now 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Was it a gynaecological operation? If so I think I'd call 111, at least.

Sorry you're going through this. Must be quite worrying!

I had a GA a few years ago five weeks after an EMCS, I was also breastfeeding. GA was on the Saturday. Can't remember the Sunday but I know I was in a deep sleep on the Monday afternoon. I think exhaustion after a general anaesthetic is normal.

Have you had a look at the NHS page about recovery after a cystoscopy? Perhaps call 111 for advice.

Call the ward and ask if it's normal.
They will be able to advise you what to do next.
Good luck!

It was urethra and bladder. I think I will call
Thanks all

I had GA and felt like you described for a good few weeks after.
It’s basically a poison and your body has to work really hard to get rid of it.

OverByYer · 27/02/2020 22:11

Sorry didn’t read the bleeding part. Definitely get that checked out

Spied · 27/02/2020 22:18

Ring 111.
Blood loss will cause dizziness and exhaustion as you'll know.
