Is it normal for the Mirena coil to cause constant period cramps, back ache? It’s due out had it 5 years but I can’t even get in for a consultation to have it out until the 19th March 😫 it’s causing my anxiety to go through the roof

A misplaced or non working mirena can cause cramps and back ache but it is not due to mirena itself but because of lack of the progestin hormone it has run out of. Have you tried calling GUM clinic in your area, you might get an appointment sooner and staff is quite experienced for mirena insertion/removal even better than your GP.
