Peri menopausal or fibroids???

I’m going to book an appointment with a gynaecologist. I’m
39, got mirena coil replaced last spring after some issues which were getting worse and worse with my 3 year old coil. Now they’re starting up again 10 months on. Like a second period after my first accompanied with fatigue and minor period like pain. This is reducing my energy and effectiveness in my daily life.

I also have major pmt pre-period which affects my judgement and decision making and makes it difficult to control my emotions.

I’ve had cervix checked plenty, am a healthy weight, exercise, eat ok etc. I’m wondering if I’m actually going through perimenopause as I haven’t felt like myself for a good while now (I’m not unhappy , just a bit all over the place with moods, fatigue and periods). Like I said, I will see gynaecologist again as I have a family history of fibroids. She said if I wanted I could have a Hysteroscopy but I hear that that’s painful and if it’s peri menopause I’d rather avoid unnecessary checks and pain.

Wondering if anyone has experience of all this kind of thing, and any ideas what I can do to manage it if it is peri menopause

Thank you in advance, I’m very confused!

I’ve had a hysteroscopy this morning but it was done under general but I feel fine. I think I’ve only had paracetamol so far. A bit cranky and stingy down below but nothing bad. A blood test should be able to tell if you’re perimenopausal and I got a ultra sound first to diagnose fibroids.
