My body rejected the Mirena coil! TMI

Last night I woke to an exceptionally heavy period flood at 3am. This was a bit to be expected as I wasn’t wearing a super thick nighttime pad, as when I went to bed it was still quite light.
I tried to sleep, but had quite a lot of cramping, with a few really sharp pains. I thought ahh that felt a bit like the sharp pain I had when having the coil fitted. I got up just after 5am, flooded again, even heavier this time, and just about got to the bathroom. I had several really large clots fall out, one onto the thankfully tiled floor, which contained the Mirena. I wrote it on my phone, just in case I thought I dreamt it!
I am due to see gynae next month as I have fibroids - I believe this is what pushed it out, and was considering having another one. But, my ED has the depo injection with no issues so am thinking maybe trying that. It all depends on what the solution for the fibroids is, but I really can’t go on any longer with the way things are. I am 48, had my kids, done with all that, so really would be ok with a hysterectomy, but I am worried about what could happen with that.
I have anaemia due to years of heavy periods, and I had polyps removed about 5 years ago.
I’m not sure what I am asking really, just wondered if anyone had gone down a similar route to me and what they eventually went with that they were happy with.

I would certainly suggest you see a gynaecologist sooner than next month, I would enquire if there are any cancellation appointment slots.

Do not put up with this and besides which you should not have to. Myomectomy op can be an option for fibroids

Wow, that's horrifying you really do need to see someone quicker just in case any damage has been caused. Then take the above posters advice and fight for your rights, don't let them fob you off.

Also, I would not recommend the injection, it's banned in quite a few places and when I was on it I actually developed a life threatening dairy allergy - I didn't just bloat I went into full Anaphylactic shock over my coffee being stirred with same teaspoon that stirred a cup of tea with milk in.

Oh ok, do you really think I need to phone tomorrow, as I thought I was ok. Its been really calm all day today, no pain or anything.

Thats interesting re the dairy allergy, as my ED has that, but she had that before having the injection, so not linked.

I had the same at the end of last year. Ended up at A&E after massive clots and blood just pouring out of me. Couldn’t find the mirena strings after that (A&E didn’t check) but an MRI suggested it was still there. Just had a hysteroscopy which was to also remove it but consultant said it wasn’t there!!

Oh and my plan (tbc) is to have uterine artery embolisation for my fibroids. It depends where they are as to what your options are.

After a day of pretty much spotting, today on my way to an appointment cor my YD I had the most painful cramps. Almost brought me to tears. I then got out of the car and flood. I made it to the loo, and cleaned up with no mishaps, but the clot was huge. I have started tranxemic acid today, so far not doing anything. I didn’t take it yesterday or Sun which was when I thought might have been day 1, as things have been so light. Until they aren’t, and I can’t always predict when that will happen.
I really don’t think there is anything the gp can do, and I saw the Mirena intact so I know thats not in the wrong place or anything. I only had it fitted last July, so not long ago.
