Period after hysterocopy and laser ablation

Hi ladies. I had my ablation on the 25th January, and all seemed to go well. I had some bleeding, but it all settled down to some light blood when I wiped. Had follow up appointment on Tuesday and doc said everything looked good. This morning I woke up at 3am in a puddle of blood. I was under the impression that I wouldn't bleed again after this procedure, so my question is going out to the ladies who have been through this-does it take a while to "take" or am I just a lucky one who will carry on flooding until menopause? (I'm 45 and perimenopausal)

I bled & lost clear fluid for about 6-8 weeks after my ablation last June. To begin the loss was quite consistent but then it was just clear/very pale pink liquid & not all the time. I was told that I had a very large uterus (preens) and that the ablation wasn’t completely successful and I might still have very slight periods. This is correct, they haven’t even lasted 3 days & they’ve been manageable.

@LizziesTwin thanks for your reply! Good to know that this may well be normal. Although I am disappointed that my period turned up (and was def in shock early this morning) I am hoping that it will at least be lighter than before the ablation.

Was yours a novasure? I have so many tampons & giant sanitary towels left, I don’t know whether to throw them away or keep them a few more months.

I've never bled once since I had mine 9 years ago.

I'm not in the I'm,so not sure what a novasure is.
After my initial panic this morning, the blood seems to be very watery and I was due on today. I don't mind having a period, as long as it is light and manageable-I was just surprised because the doc had said I wouldn't.
