Bladder issue after birth

I gave birth to my daughter 4 weeks ago and since then I have had an urge to pee all the time. I’ve been tested for UTI several times and it’s negative so it’s not that. I got tested for Urine being retained in my bladder but that test was clear as well. It’s worse when standing and walking around and doesn’t get better when I do go for a pee. It’s like my bladder is full again. It’s so uncomfortable and really getting me down. Has anybody had anything similar?

Unfortunately yes, I have had the same issues since I gave birth. I was always told before having children that it was only C sections that gave you that problem but I had mine naturally so that's straight away a lie lol. I done all the pelvic exercises aswell to try and prevent it but it doesn't seem to help much. I've heard people getting botox in the bladder but I'm assuming it's expensive and requires top ups every now and then. Other then that I have no clue what can help. If you do find something though please let me know as it's something that gets me down too Smile

You need to do pelvic floor exercises several times a day. Tightening the front part of the muscles as though stopping peeing, and the back part as though stopping a fart. Another thing that can help is peeing, standing up, then sitting down to pee again.
Bladder urgency can be caused by different things so do ask for a referral to urology (in my area, we have a pelvic education nurse who sees women postpartum).
