Cervical polyp removal and periods..

I've got an appointment tomorrow morning for cervical polyp removal. My periods are a bit weird at the moment, but there's a good chance I'll be bleeding heavily by tomorrow - I'm spotting today. There's an option to cancel and rebook online, but next appointment is July - I think it can wait until then, but what if that coincides with a period too? I can't see any advice about whether a period makes removal a no-go or not - it's all a bit icky.

So do I cancel the appointment for tomorrow or not? Hospital is a 20 minute drive away and I don't really want to go only to be turned away..

Would you have enough time to call in the morning before leaving?

I don't think so, the only phone number they've given me is the NHS appointment line. Appointment is 9.40 and the clinic starts at 9am, so I'm guessing I'd struggle to get hold of anyone at the hospital.

Sod it I've changed it. Being female is such a nightmare.

I think you've done the right thing, although it does mean a long wait!

I've had several (loads of!) procedures done on my cervix and mostly have been asked if I was bleeding beforehand, I'd imagine the 'view' wouldn't be very clear during a period

Yes, that's what I'm thinking, they can't do a smear while you're on can they. I'm cross that it doesn't say so anywhere though, I'd have thought I'm not the only one and judging by the 5 month wait its hardly uncommon. Fingers crossed for a clear view in July..
