Mastitis when not breastfeeding

The pain is agonising! I've got antibiotics and antiinflammatories from the doctor, due to go to see her again on Friday to check on my progress. For anyone who's had it, how long did it take to clear up for you?

(not breastfeeding, not a mum, never been pregnant, only just learned - the hard way- that mastitis can strike randomly!)

Yes I’ve just been told I have this to also not breastfeeding etc etc!! It’s AWFUL my body is litrally producing milk.... I have to get my hormones checked,, but they think it’s the morning after pill that has caused my body to mess up in such a way

What was the outcome of this? I’m on antibiotics for mastitis but everything I read also indicates to inflammatory breast cancer so I’ve been freaking out. My left breast hurts so much and I have a patch of hot red rash along a big blue vein so very worried.
