Crippling and debilitating pains before a period

like to talk about pains before a period. I've not come on yet (due on today) but before I do I suffer with intense bowel cramps, constipation and contractions type pain. These started last night but have eased off but all along my lower abdomen and c section scar it feels extremely tender and sore, like it’s bruised. It’s hurting constantly at the moment and I can hardly move.

I have strong prescribed painkillers to try and keep the pain at bay but it’s not working. I’ve also been using hot water bottles overnight to try and relieve the pressure.

I know I’ll need to get it checked out next month once my period has finished to rule things out but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing. I find that once I have a motion the bowel pain eases considerably and that's usually when my period arrives....

Do not delay this by another month. I would go to the GP and seek a gynae referral from such a person because this certainly warrants further investigation. Endometriosis is a possible cause for these symptoms and you may also have adhesions from your previous C-section surgery.

@AttilaTheMeerkat thank you for your advice, I am seeing a gynaecologist next Wednesday to find out what's going on. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon 😊
