Cervical erosion? Heavy bleeding after sex or bowel movement (tmi).

I am 38 and on the combined pill, have been spotting throughout the month for several year, have tried several different pills. I also bleed after sex, sometimes not just a spot, it can look more like a murder scene and can be quite embarrassing. I spoke to my GP a few days ago and I have been put on yet another pill (slightly different hormone) but haven’t started the packet yet.

Just went for a poop and bled a lot, sorry if TMI but there was quite a lot of fresh blood on the toilet and the paper when I wiped, not coming from my bottom. My period was a week ago and was quite heavy but this isn’t period blood.

I’m fed up of not being able to have sex, lift heavy things or poop without bleeding heavily 😢. I’m pretty sure it’s cervical erosion as I has it when I was pregnant many years ago. I actually feel sore inside this time (like a shard of glass up my food). My GP wants me to try the new pills for 3 months before possibly referring me you gynaecologist but I’m so fed up with bleeding all the time. Should I go back and ask for a referral? Should I try coming of the pill altogether?

I would see another GP for sure! Did they examine you? When I had it they examined me and straightaway referred.

No, no examination. I had a smear not long ago and that was all clear (so I’m not worried about cancer), just feeling really fed up with the random bleeding.

Push for a gynaecologist referral, definitely. Could you have endometriosis?

Runnerduck34 · 19/01/2020 19:59

Go back to GP surgery ( maybe different doctor) explain what you've said here and ask for a referral, I had similar symptoms, GP did examination said I had surgical.erosion, referred my to colposcopy clinic, turned out i also had abnormal cervical cells ( 2 years after clear smear test) and needed a lltez procedure to remove them. All ok now . Good luck

The bleeding from your bottom? Do you have a fissure/piles etc?

Lovemusic33 · 19/01/2020 20:05

Endometriosis has been mentioned in the past but not conformed, I have had cervical erosion in the last (whilst pregnant) and ovarian cysts.

My smear test was only a couple months ago and was all clear, I had the symptoms then but not as bad, I seem to bleed more now.

Bleeding is from my vagina not my bottom (not piles).

Been bleeding for a couple days now (on and off), haven’t had time to see GP as they always want a phone consultation first and randomly call you, I can’t take a call when I’m working as I work as a support worker, I’m often driving or working with very vulnerable people.

I collected my new pills and have started taking them to see if that helps but I suspect it won’t. I will try and get to the gp next week if there’s no improvement.

Any chance you could come off the pills entirely for a while to see what your body would do naturally?

Lovemusic33 · 21/01/2020 10:08

I have tried before but I get such awful PMT and ovulation pains that I’m housebound and my periods are longer and heavier Sad.

100% push to see a gynae. I had cervical erosion which started when i was pregnant with my first, and it lasted about a year and i just kind of got on with it. When i did go to my drs eventually, i had a swab to check to just rule out infection, and then was meant to go back to get a referal to gynae to get it 'burnt' (not sure on correct term) but was then pregnant with my second and it ended up stopping anyway!

So yes tell them you want a referal to your a gynae, i dont understand why they havent already bless you

I will be pushing for a referral. I’m now passing large clots (sorry tmi). I have a busy day at work tomorrow but will call GP on Thursday. I suspect they will want me to wait and see how I react to the new pills they gave me but I can’t carry on like this as I’m bleeding so much.
