Little white bits that look like tissue on and around vagina

anon12334 · 14/01/2020 21:38

Warning that this may be tmi but I wonder if anyone could give me any advice as to what this might be?

Often if I check my vagina there are lots of little white flecks that look like tiny bits of toilet roll everywhere. They come off if I wipe with my finger etc.

I am not pregnant (finished my period a few days ago)

I've had health anxiety in the past and this is making me a bit anxious.

Thanks for your help

Tiny bits of toilet paper?

Why do you look at it? I don't think I've looked at mine in... Can't remember. Just don't if you can and you're not having issues, it's pretty self sufficient.

Could it actually be tiny bits of loo roll?
Or sometimes vaginal secretions can be a bit gummy and look like white flecks. Either way if they wipe off easily and you have good vaginal health I'd just ignore it.

I had this op. It was a form of thrush.

Might be an idea to get your blood sugar checked, mine was recurring due to high blood sugar levels. I was reading as pre-diabetic.

When I got that under control it cleared up with the help of a daily application of clotrimazole cream.

Sure enough when I slipped into bad habits over Christmas it came back.

MrsHardbroom · 14/01/2020 21:55

Sounds like thrush. Go buy a fluconazole tablet from the pharmacist and if it hasn't gone in a few days, make a doctors appt.

PandaG · 14/01/2020 22:03

Yes, I agree thrush most likely - or if thread like could it possibly be worms? They can migrate round to the front from the anus.

Bilingualspingual · 14/01/2020 22:04

Yes, I think thrush too.

TartanMarbled · 14/01/2020 22:07

I had this for years. Never bothered me. I don't have it now.

BecauseReasons · 14/01/2020 22:10

Google 'smegma'. Does it look like that?

DontCallMeShitley · 14/01/2020 22:15

I would go with the above:
Thrush
Smegma
or do you use white towels that might leave tiny bits of fluff? Or maybe the thin type of toilet paper that leaves tiny bits behind?

ifoundthebread · 14/01/2020 22:22

It's thrush. I had the same as you described for a long time. Turned out it was reoccurring due to the coil.

Catabogus · 14/01/2020 22:23

It IS tiny bits of loo paper!

anon12334 · 14/01/2020 22:32

@BecauseReasons I've googled it and yes I think that is it - what causes it?

WelshMoth · 15/01/2020 13:41

Thrush!

BecauseReasons · 15/01/2020 22:15

@anon12334 if it's smegma, it's just normal accumulation of dead skin cells between the folds, mixed in with secretions. Nothing to be concerned about, just clean it off with a mild emollient and water.

Branleuse · 15/01/2020 22:16

Thrush
