Really worried about red itchy breast rash

In November I found a breast lump, was referred to breast clinic at start of December.

Had mammogram and scan and doctors diagnosed two breast cysts on one side one on the other.

Today one breast is really itchy and has a red rash like a gnat bite, did a bit of Googling and obviously terrified myself.

I'll get booked in with the gp if it doesn't clear over the weekend, but just wanted to know if anyone had anything like it x

Are you ovulating by any chance? Meant mid cycle?
My left breast is itchy for yesterday and today, and have read it could be due to Estrogen. And yes, my breasts are with cysts too. I’m looking to have an ultrasound. I check once a year for my own peace.
Hope nothing serious 💐

I did, OP. It was a weird red itchy rash on one breast and I thought I could see the orange peel marks too (now if I look closely I still can but on both, I guess they were always there but are very small). I was worried too and posted here.

I went to the GP and it was determined as some sort of allergy which I was surprised at as I've never been allergic to anything. It might have been hormones though at the time.

Anyway it vanished and that was years ago now.

I think you are absolutely right to go to the GP but there are lots of unconcerning things it could be as well. Let us know how you get on

Thanks both,

I could be mid cycle/ovulation, but my cycles are a bit mixed up possibly peri-menopause which in itself could cause estrogen fluctuations I suppose.

I'm going to try and put it to the back of my mind (while simultaneously keeping an eye on it 😆) over the weekend, I wish I could self refer back to the breast clinic it seems a bit pointless going to the gp but that's the system x

I saw my GP this evening, they have put me on a week's worth of antibiotics as they thought it may be a blocked duct, told to go back in two weeks.

I'm not reassured, in fact I'm pretty terrified of getting a diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer.

My armpit feel uncomfortable and itchy my breast has a red patch, I'm really really hoping the antibiotics work

Could it be lymphedema?

Rosecat22 · 14/01/2020 19:56

I had a red scaly patch suddenly appear on my breast last year (like, in a few hours suddenly). Was terrified like you, but it turned out to be a fungal infection.

Try not to panic, there are loads of really benign things that can cause it.

itsybitsytarantula · 19/01/2020 21:49

@MrsWednesdayteatime how are you doing with the antibiotics?

MrsWednesdayteatime · 22/01/2020 19:16

Thanks for asking tarantula

Most of the redness has gone and the itching has completely gone, I'm hoping it was some sort of hormonal reaction, but I'll check with my GP when I go in for a follow up next week ♥️
