Just that .... laying in bed reading emails , felt a pins and needles like feeling then noticed I was wet ... I’d wet the bed.
Never happened before .
Late 30s dc4 what’s just happened?
Anyone ever had this problem? Tia

Have you done your kegel ecercises?

You said pins and needles hows your back?

chillied · 09/01/2020 21:58

I wouldn't mess around OP there is a condition called cauda equina which can lead to being paralysed, I would go and get that ruled out without delay

enoughenough2 · 09/01/2020 22:00

What @chillied said

Honeybee333 · 09/01/2020 22:02

I haven’t done them in a while .
My back , legs etc are fine . I didn’t black out or anything.
Don’t have a weak bladder .
It’s just like ... what just happened ,
Haven’t had a drink ( alcohol ) either . So shocked .

The pins and needles is often associated with nerve issues- trapped or damaged. So do what Chilled advised and quickly. Loss of bladder or bowel control should always be investigated.

Honeybee333 · 09/01/2020 22:04

OMG chillied worried now

Call 111 and ask about cauda equina, get yourself to a & e, I believe time is of the essence. I read about this from another mumsnet poster, wet herself but was too busy with a busy life to ask about it and is now paralysed. No fun. I think the paralysis can be prevented if you seek help fast.

If it turns out to be something else, no worries, but don't take the risk.

DesLynamsMoustache · 09/01/2020 22:15

Yes I would call 111. Sudden loss of control of a bodily function like that needs to be investigated quickly I would think. Hope you are OK, OP Thanks

avocadoze · 09/01/2020 22:18

Call 111 cauda equina was the first thing that came to mind

Legoandloldolls · 09/01/2020 22:21

If you was just laying in bed and not busting for the loo I'd definitely call 111. Especially with sudden pins and needles. It does make is sound nerve related

doublehelix · 09/01/2020 22:31

Hopefully nothing but I also say needs a&e for possible cauda equina - so important to rule out (doctor). Fingers crossed

newmummalion · 09/01/2020 22:51

I would call 111 and go to A&E if they advise.

mumofblueeyes · 09/01/2020 22:52

Good luck OP

peachgreen · 09/01/2020 22:52

I wouldn't call 111, I'd go straight to A&E.

42isthemeaning · 09/01/2020 22:57

This is one of those occasions where you should get straight to hospital.
All the best op

Honeybee333 · 10/01/2020 17:22

Thank you all for replying, and being kind . I was mortified and embarrassed.
Had my back checked today and urine . I have a gp follow up Monday but have no answers why yet 😌

Flowers hope you’re feeling better soon OP.

Legoandloldolls · 10/01/2020 22:02

Hopefully it's just a one off weird laying on nevre weirdly plusinfection type things. But glad your getting checked out OP.

I once really weirdly lost bowel control for no reason at all. Not sure how old my boy was. No pain and didnt feel ill. No warning. Went out as soon as cleaned up and felt fine all day after. I just guessed my body didnt like something or had a blip. Hopefully like me is was a random.one off

eyeoresancerre · 10/01/2020 22:10

I had this once when I was 17. Just sitting revising, felt pins & needles and whoosh! 30 years on & it's never happened since but every time I'm in a conference room I worry it might happen and I'll have to waffle out!
I know it won't and I'm sure it was just sitting for too long in one position but I just wanted to offer a bit of comfort to say that it could have been just a body blip like mine was.

eyeoresancerre · 10/01/2020 22:11

Waddle not waffle out.Blush

chillied · 10/01/2020 22:56

Really glad you're being checked out, well done

Honeybee333 · 11/01/2020 11:35

Thank you ,
Feel a paranoid it’ll happen again .
Been walking around with a cardigan around my waist !🤦🏼‍♀️
