Late period and breastfeeding for 1 year

I am wondering how normal it is to have irregular period while breastfeeding after your periods have returned?

My periods returned around 9 months postpartum and the first few were evenly spaced but this one is now quite a few days late (unusual for me) and I know I'm not pregnant.

I am still breastfeeding my one year old (combined with formula in the day) could this be having an impact on my cycles?

Mine came back about a year into breastfeeding. Most the time they're about a month apart but twice there have been almost 2 months between them! I was like ohhh no not pregnant yet.
Thankfully not tho...think it's down to how much breastfeeding your doing. If baby needs more it must send hormone signals out

Thanks for replying @Surfskatefamily maybe it's the prolactin messing with my cycles? They had seemed to go back to normal so it took me by surprise.

My DC is 10 months and mine still aren’t regular. I BF until 8.5 months and my periods returned at 6 weeks pp despite EBF.

@crankyotter yes I think so. I dont mind having less periods as it's no fun obviously but the slight worry of omg am I pregnant is there. Although me and husband want to start ttc baby number two in a couple of months but I dont really know if I'm properly ovulating yet. Slightly concerned about ending up tandem feeding though as my lil boy is a bit of a boob monster haha
