Anything else but endo?

I've just finished a heavy period with quite a few clots but I still have a heavy feeling in my lower abdomen, feel bloated and an aching lower back. This has been going on for a long time now but every time I search it says endometriosis. I'm not convinced though, my periods a pretty regular, no pain during or after sex and the cramps during my period are manageable with just paracetamol. No urinary symptom but some bowel symptoms. I also get radiating pain down my thighs during some periods but not others, mainly when I'm at work and standing a lot.

So, is there anything else it could be?

Hi, I found out yesterday that I have stage 4 endo. Had very few symptoms. It was briefly mentioned during a gynae appointment last year which had been arranged due to a large ovarian cyst being found (fast tracked for scans/mri due to possible cancer, thankfully all clear). But the full extent was only revealed to me yesterday. I was shocked at the severity as, apart from heavy periods, I honestly wouldn't have known.

Go to your gp. You may have ovarian cysts. They should at least refer you for an unltrasound scan which should flag up any possible causes.

Good luck.

I get similar symptoms from my fibroids.

It could also be fibroids or adenomyosis (inside uterus version of endometriosis).

Go to the GP and ask for a referral to the gynae clinic. A saline scan will show exactly what's going on in there.

OP definitely go to your GP. I had a transvaginal ultrasound in December after 2+ years of shorter cycles. They found ‘simple’ cysts on both ovaries with lots of fibroids. She said my structures looked closer together which along with the cysts suggests endo. I am seeing a gynaecologist in April. Bizarrely though, I’ve had few traditional endo symptoms, minimal pain etc, but I’m now on day 17 of my period (albeit with a light first week). Never been on this long. I’m not sure whether to call the doc back and try and get seen sooner or wait until my gynae appointment. It’s like all the typical symptoms have arrived since my scan.
