Noristherone Question

abigailporter · 30/12/2019 01:11

My GP prescribed me Noristherone for heavy periods as mine were wiping me out for a week each month. Always been regular just a lot of blood, clots and pain. I was previously prescribed Tranexamic Acid which was doing the trick but caused weird bruising so had to stop taking them.

Now I’m day 4 of my cycle, been taking 3 tabs (5mg) each day since day 1 of cycle and have stopped bleeding. I am in so much pain I can’t sleep despite taking naproxen regularly. I feel like I need to push something out (tmi soz) and I don’t know what to do with myself. I have obviously stopped taking noristherone because clearly I can’t cope but any similar stories? Please ease my mind :(

Oh you poor thing. Sounds like you needed to pass a big clot.

How are you getting on now?

A warm bath with Epsom salts might be soothing.

I stopped taking them - will go back to GP. It took all of my energy out of me and I can’t be doing that again Confused thanks guys x

GP sounds like a great idea. You might need to check your iron levels.

I’m on these now to stop an almost constant period and they are making me feel bad too, period pains but very low and almost into my thighs making it painful to walk on and off . Tempted to stop them too- wondered how you got on ?
