The past couple of weeks or so, I've had itching at the top of my vulva, near the clitoris but the outer bit iyswim. It's driving me mad and is a bit sore!

I've got no other symptoms and no chance of an STD. What could it be?? Please help!

Thrush or other fungal infection

Lolapippin · 13/12/2019 22:40

Or allergies maybe.
Try either a canesten pessary and use aqueous cream as soap down below in the shower and then wash it off

I wondered about thrush but it just seems to be in a very small area and I don't have any discharge?

I’d still say it could be thrush or another fungal infection!
If you go to your doctor, they’ll almost definitely prescribe hydrocortisone cream for the itch and to get rid of any infection. In the meantime, avoid soap and definitely avoid scratching because of you do have a fungal infection, it will get under your nails and you could spread it elsewhere. Change towels and pyjamas regularly too especially during treatment and don’t share towels with anyone to avoid spreading anything.

Um, I've realised that I said vulva when i mean labia Blush Idiot. But as I said, it's at the top, nowhere near the entrance to the fanjo.
Have taken a tablet for thrush. Will see if that helps.

This sounds really similar to what I'm experiencing (I posted a new thread on this on general health today). I have tickling/slight itch and some burning at the top... kind of on the clitoris and small area of the labia majora.

I took a Canesten thrush tablet on Friday...not much better today. Has yours resolved?

Hi. I took a Canesten too and the next day, it felt much better and I think (hope!) it's gone!

I think maybe go to the Dr if it doesn't clear up. I think I would have if the Canesten hadn't helped.
